ABOUT CLOZARIL

Clozaril is an anti-psychotic drug prescribed for patients suffering from schizophrenia, severe depression and other psychological disorders. However, patients taking Clozaril may suffer from dangerous side effects, including heart attacks, hypertension, myocarditis and agranulocytosis, another life-threatening conditions.

Clozaril patients are also at risk of developing tardive dyskinesia, a condition marked by slow, rhythmical, involuntary movements. There have also been several reported cases of neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), a potentially fatal symptom.

Clozaril is the Novartis brand of the anti-psychotic drug clozapine. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Clozaril to treat schizophrenia in patients who do not respond to other available therapies, and to reduce the risk of recurrent suicidal behavior in patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder.

Schizophrenia, a disorder of the brain, affects about 1 out of 100 persons - with onset usually in young adults. About 20 to 40 percent of patients with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder attempt suicide. Suicidal behavior refers to actions by a patient that put the patient at risk for death.

In April 2005 the FDA issued an alert noting that older patients treated for dementia with Clozaril or other atypical antipsychotics had a higher chance for death than patients who did not take the medicine.

Our Clozaril lawyers can help you obtain the compensation you deserve - with no fees and no cost to you. But you must act quickly before your right to compensation expires.
